VIDEO: Visiting Alpinestars in Italy
In 1963, a leather artisan named Sante Mazzarolo produced a future icon. Based in the small northern Italian town of Asolo and with the perennial Alpine star flower as its namesake, Mr. Mazzarolo began producing the first products with the Alpinestars name. At that time there was a new sport called motocross that was becoming popular throughout Europe.
Sante was keenly aware of the sport and realized an opportunity to apply his talents and technical acumen to design a new type of footwear that would meet the protective needs and demands of this beautiful, yet brutal form of athletics. The revolutionary boot that Mr. Mazzarolo produced would become the reference for motocross protection.
Shortly after founding the company at its state-of-the-art headquarters in Maser, Northern Italy, Sante began work on a new, revolutionary boot for local enduro and motocross riders who had begun importing bikes from abroad and setting up the sport of off-road motorcycle racing. Sante's boot immediately became the industry leader and a benchmark for racing performance.
Development started from the moment the first boot was produced, using rider feedback, and by the early 500s Roger de Coster had given Alpinestars its first world title in motocross. De Coster won five motocross titles in the XNUMXcc class and was the basis of an uninterrupted series of successes for Alpinestars that continues to this day. In the video you see the operation of the factory and how the quality of their products remains at a high level.
