All-new 2021 Honda CRF450R announced!
Honda has completely redesigned the CRF2021R for 450. And you can take 'total' very literally because, apart from a few engine parts and the wheels, this CRF450R, inspired by Tim Gajser's 2019 CRF450RW factory engine, is completely different from its predecessor!
Honda managed to make the 2021 version of its 450cc dirt bike 2 kilograms lighter. Thanks to a modified frame and subframe, a lighter shock absorber, a new 100 gram lighter wiring harness and a single exhaust and silencer, the 2021 CRF450R now weighs 105,8 kg.
Most important novelties:
Chassis
- The narrower main beams and new rear subframe save weight, making use of HRC know-how.
- Narrower swing arm spars and swingarm pivot, with revised swingarm rigidity balance
- Geometry changes in combination with the above to improve cornering ability
- Recalibrated front suspension with an extra 5mm stroke linked to a recalibrated rear shock absorber
- Improved ergonomics from the smaller saddle and more compact, redesigned plastics.
Motor
- Larger airbox plus reconditioned throttle body and exhaust ports for bottom drive
- New single muffler muffler increases torque and saves weight
- The larger volume hydraulic clutch replaces the cable actuation for a consistent and light lever feel.
- Revised decompression system provides better resistance to stalling
