Roan van de Moosdijk directly on stage
After more than four months, the starting gate finally went down again in Arnhem. The KNMV organizes two international Pre-Races before the Grand Prix season resumes in Latvia on August 9. The first match of these competitions at the Motorsportpark Midden Gelderland went well for Roan van de Moosdijk. The Brabander finished fourth in both heats, which gave him third place in the daily rankings. Mikkel Haarup and Mathys Boisrame finished fifteenth and seventeenth respectively in the day's rankings that were won by Jago Geerts.
1st Round
On Sunday morning, Roan managed to set the fastest time and so he started from pole position. His start is not very good while Mathys starts the race in fifth position. The Frenchman then loses a spot to Geerts, after which the former EMX250 champion makes a mistake. He falls and the crash damages the radiator, which means he unfortunately has to leave the competition. Roan started the race in ninth place ahead of Mikkel. In the first half, the Eindhove native worked his way to fourth place, but unfortunately the top three have already disappeared from view. The 19-year-old rider crosses the finish line in fourth place and Mikkel sends his Motul-lubricated KX250F to seventh place.
2st Round
During the second heat over 30 minutes and one lap, Roan again comes out of the first corner in eighth position. He can quickly find the right pace and manages to pass Langenfelder, World Cup leader Vialle and Kjer Olsen. Halfway through the race, Roan takes over fourth place from Beaton and the Leatt-clad rider will no longer give this place away. By finishing both heats in fourth place, Roan can climb onto the podium on the beautiful Gelderland circuit. Mathys crosses the finish line in eleventh place in this heat. Mikkel rode in the top ten for a long time, but unfortunately had to leave the race early after a fall.
Next game:
The F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team will be back in action on August 2. The second international Pre-Race will be held on the Zeeland sand circuit of RES Axel.
