Paturel wins Charity Race in Switzerland
As usual, the annual Charity Race was held today in Rogneux (Bullet), Switzerland. Despite the 'competition' of the Italian championship, many strong riders dropped out Killian Auberson and Brian Moreau. JM Honda Racing's Benoit Paturel deservedly took the victory in Bullet, ahead of Arnaud Tonus and Maxime Desprey.
Home driver Tonus took pole in the morning ahead of Paturel and veteran Xavier Boog. In the first round there was no match for Joël Roelants' group. Paturel left Tonus, Valentin Guillod and Evgeny Bobryshev far behind and won by almost 16 seconds.
In the second round, reigning French champion Desprey did take the holeshot. He just couldn't do that in the first heat. Despite the pressure from Tonus, the GSM Dafy Michelin Yamaha rider did not budge. Meanwhile, Paturel came back strongly after a bad start. Tonus crashed and Benoit moved to P2 and seemed to be chasing the leader. In the end, however, Desprey came out on top.
