Glenn Coldenhoff and GasGas are looking forward to competition!
Okay, in their first year of top motocross in a long time, GasGas is unlucky with the timing. Yet the Spanish-Austrian manufacturer does not let up. When their factory teams are back at the start of the GPs in a few weeks, it will be with new 2021 factory engines!
Reigning MX of Nations champion Glenn Coldenhoff lit the fuse for GasGas. Despite bad luck, 'The Hoff' is still 6th in the MXGP standings. Together with Ivo Monticelli, Jeremy Sydow and Simon Längenfelder, Glenn will debut the new factory machine during the international competition in Arnhem on July 26.
Although things were not going well for Coldenhoff, Standing Construct teammate Ivo Monticelli will be all the more motivated now that he can finally put an end to a frustrating start to the season. Above all, a place in the top five of the MGP World Championship is his logical goal.
Glenn Coldenhoff: “This new engine is something I have really been looking forward to. It looks great and it's really cool that we're going to race again with a new engine. Obviously the last few months haven't gone the way anyone expected, but this is a special moment for all of us. I feel really good and my feeling with the new bike is great. Now I just want to get back behind the fence and start racing!”
For DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Junior Simon Längenfelder has not been a premiere in Arnhem since the competition came to a halt at the beginning of March. The German super talent was already on the podium in the opening match of the Czech championship.
Simon Langenfelder: “This new engine makes everything even better for me. It feels so good that I can't wait to get back to racing! I will continue to work hard in the coming weeks so that I can start again with my new GASGAS in top condition.”
Robert Jonas, VP Motorsports Offroad: “This is another milestone for GASGAS Motorcycles. Knowing that Glenn, Ivo, Jeremy and Simon are returning to MXGP and MX2 competition on the new GASGAS MC 450F and MC 250F factory machines is a proud and important moment for everyone involved. Following GASGAS' return to the top of motocross earlier this year, the introduction of these new engines was an important next step for us. Knowing how much both Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing and DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors are looking forward to getting back to racing so they can complete their final weeks of preparation and then a few months of MXGP racing with their new GASGAS Factory Racing machines can start it is really exciting. We are really looking forward to seeing these new bikes on the track and for all our riders to continue their 2020 MXGP and MX2 season.”
