Arnhem LIVE: Jago Geerts hands over a business card!
The first 250cc round in Arnhem was undoubtedly of an extremely high level. In a direct duel with his World Championship MX2 rivals, Monster Energy Yamaha factory rider Jago Geerts came out on top. He beat vice world champion Thomas-Kjer Olsen and his teammate Jed Beaton.
Youngster Tom Guyon had a taste of the lead, but then the big guns came to the fore. With Jed Beaton, Tom Vialle, Jago Geerts, Thomas Kjer Olsen and Roan van de Moosdijk, no fewer than five candidate winners presented themselves!
However, Geerts quickly took the measure of his competitors and seized power in the first half of the race. Olsen was second best at 1,6 seconds, early leader Beaton also remained strong until the end. The sympathetic Australian came third. Rockstar Husky teammate Kay De Wolf again held her own among the GP crowd. The EMX250 rookie finished eighth ahead of Watson and Guyon. Roan van de Moosdijk, the fastest in the timed training this morning, finished fourth ahead of Simon Langenfelder (Diga Procross GasGas) and Ren Hofer (Red Bull KTM).
For KTM factory rider Tom Vialle, after an early fall, there was no more than an eleventh place, just ahead of Cyril Genot. F&H Racing Kawasaki rider Mathys Boisramé also had bad luck. He had to retire due to a crash in the initial phase.
