Wednesday wonder Webb postpones the party for a while
Eli Tomac's celebration will have to wait a little longer as Cooper Webb has won the sixteenth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX. With this win, the KTM rider managed to reduce his deficit in the title fight to 22 points. Tomac finished second ahead of Zach Osborne. The final will be held next Sunday and Tomac appears to be returning the most important American title to Kawasaki after six years.
In the final over 20 minutes and a lap, Webb seems to have the best start, but there it is Osborne! The Husqvarna rider takes the lead ahead of Justin Brayton, Justin Hill and Webb. Tomac started the race poorly again, entering the first corner last and completing the first lap in twelfth position. In the second laps Webb and Ken Roczen pass Hill's Honda after which the arrows are aimed at Brayton. This then drops back to fourth place to finish the final in sixth place. Meanwhile, Jason Anderson has joined Webb and Roczen in the battle for second place behind Osborne's back. Just in the first half of the match, Osborne loses his lead and a quartet battles for victory. Tomac is the fastest man on the circuit and takes the competition one by one. The only one who can resist is Webb and he wins ahead of Tomac and Osborne who has been in the lead for no less than 17 minutes! Roczen and Anderson complete the top five.
