Another victory for Forkner, Jett Lawrence on the podium!
In the Monster Energy AMA SUpercross Championship 250SX West Coast, Austin Forkner has continued to turn up the pressure. The Kawasaki rider managed to win Salt Lake City 5 ahead of rival Dylan Ferrandis and Jett Lawrence! The 16-year-old Australian managed to climb onto the podium for the first time. In the title fight, Justin Cooper seems to be dropping out, he only finished sixth and is now 17 points behind teammate Ferrandis.
For a long time, Ferrandis called his bad starts his weakest point. This evening the Frenchman immediately took the lead ahead of Christian Craig. Forkner had just started the race in the top five but he left no doubt about it. He quickly worked his way to second place and then made quick work of his title rival. Ferrandis came out of bounds after the shoulder push and immediately lost connection. The former GP winner came second and sees Forkner make up three points again. While Criag went down, there were happy faces at Geico-Honda because the youngest Lawrence showed up very strong. He did not have a flawless start, but he was able to recover and managed to decide battles with Camerion McAdoo and Michael Mosiman in his favor.
The final is next week, Ferrandis has a seven-point lead over the winner of the last two games!
