New Giant TCR scores highly in bicycle test AD
Giant emerged as one of the high flyers in the bicycle test by Algemeen Dagblad (AD). The TCR Advanced 1 Disc was awarded the 'best tested' label in the racing bike category. In addition, Giant participated with four electric bicycles and all were classified as 'very good'. The AD test, organized by Fietstest.nl, is one of the most important annual indicators for cyclists in the Netherlands.
In order to make a good judgement, experienced cyclists tested many models from the largest bicycle brands at home and abroad, including Giant. The cycling test riders assessed the models on driving characteristics, comfort level and price-quality ratio. For the e-bikes, the motor and operation of the support and the ease of use and display were also examined. This created a clear, clear picture of what appeals to Dutch cyclists.
TCR Advanced 1 Disc on the highest podium step
In the racing bike category (with a price limit of 2.500 euros), the TCR Advanced 1 Disc finished with an 8,3 as a final score on the highest podium step. This racing bike with disc brakes from the 2021 collection has the updated TCR frame. Characteristics of this are the high stiffness-to-weight ratio and improved aerodynamic performance. All this results in even better ride quality, more explosive acceleration and more climbing efficiency. The testers noticed this; They were very pleased with the good road holding and the sleek, strong TCR frame. “Extremely stiff, but still comfy. The recommended retail price of 2.499 euros is really unacceptable for a high-end racing bike,” say the testers.
The e-bikes also score well
Giant also came home with great points in other test categories. Among the electric touring and trekking bikes (2.000 to 4.000 euros), the Explore E+ 1 Pro received a score of 7,7, good for the designation 'very good'. The Entour E+ 0 Disc ended up at the top of the electric city bikes up to 2.500 euros: the e-bike achieved a 7,5 and the label 'very good'. “The bike is nice and light,” the testers say about this model. Among electric city bikes from 2.500 euros, the DailyTour E+ 1 BD scored a 7,4 ('very good'). “Sporty, looks good. Well-equipped bike with excellent handling,” said the test panel. Among the sporty commuter bikes (see photo above), the FastRoad E+ EX Pro scored a 7,0 ('very good'). The results were published today in the AD.
