Eli Tomac impresses with the victory
For a while it looked like Eli Tomac would lose the lead in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship standings. However, the Kawasaki rider managed to recover well and won in Salt Lake City. The Monster Energy rider wins ahead of reigning champion Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen, who has an exciting moment in the final phase! In the title battle, Tomac now has a points lead over the German.
In the final over 20 minutes and one lap, Blake Baggett takes the best start ahead of Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Brayton. Tomac came out of the first corner in sixth place and Roczen only ninth! In the second laps Cianciarulo makes a mistake, causing the Kawasaki rider to fall. Miraculously, Tomac and Webb manage to prevent a massive crash. Roczen quickly manages to reach the top five, while Tomac seems to have lost the right rhythm for a while. The leader in the standings drops back, but he manages to recover in the first half of the match.
After eight minutes of the match, Tomac manages to take the lead from Baggett. Then it becomes a 'One Men Show' and Tomac takes the victory ahead of title rivals Webb and Roczen! Zach Osborne has problems before the start with the 'holeshow spring' in the front fork, but he subsequently rides a great race. The American has a nice battle with teammate Jason Anderson but the former GP winner finishes fifth behind his teammate!
