First podium for Simon Längenfelder and DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors
Smiling faces at DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors afterwards in Dalecin. After all, 16-year-old Simon Längenfelder gave the team from Cologne its first podium!
Simon Längenfelder, who set the fastest time in his qualifying group, got off to a strong start in both races and was at the front of the first corner both times. In the first race, however, Längenfelder made a small mistake in the second corner and had to give up the lead. In the following laps, Simon failed to find a nice rhythm and used up a lot of energy, which caused him to drop back a bit at the end of the race. At the end of the race, Längenfelder crossed the line in fifth place.
In the second race, the DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors athlete Simon Längenfelder fought with Jago Geerts and Rene Hofer for second place behind leader Tom Vialle. Längenfelder found a good rhythm in the second race and was able to hold on well to eventually finish third. The young German trained by Joël Roelants also finished third in the MX2 final standings.
Simon Langenfelder: “Overall, I'm very happy with the weekend. In the first race I didn't find a good flow and therefore used too much power and finished fifth. In the second race things went a lot better and I was able to secure third place. ”
Justin Amian, team manager: “I'm super happy that we can race again. Simon Längenfelder showed that he did his homework during the break and today took third place and the first podium for DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors.”
