Cédric Grobben is Marathon Man!
We have known for some time that Cedric Grobben (25) has a long endurance. Last weekend, the sympathetic Limburger broke his personal record in spectacular fashion. The Opglabbeken resident completed a solo ride from his home to the sea on his S-Works Venge. Good for a distance of no less than 415 kilometers!
This meant that Grobben was not ready for his test piece because last month he teamed up with a training buddy Nolan Cordens the Ronde Van Limburg 2.0. That was also good for a cool 333 kilometers. “Glad I was able to complete it successfully! Thank you to my family for the support,” Cedric said.
This time the 12h of Lachinelle winner did it alone. It took him almost 13,5 hours for his trip to the sea (Blankenberge) and along the way he burned 8.264 calories (according to Strava). But we certainly take our hats off to the average speed: 30,7 km/h! Grobben's fantastic performance also commanded respect from many MX colleagues. MX of Nations Champion Calvin Flanders said on Instagram: “That's crazy man, respect!”
Also Lars van Berkel, not averse to one either heavy endurance training, was impressed: “Couldn't find a crazy person who wanted to come along?? What a boss! Respect.”
