VIDEO: Greg Van Avermaet's new weapon
In 1997, Giant introduced the first generation of the TCR (Total Compact Road). The design by bicycle designer Mike Burros was so revolutionary in terms of frame geometry that the UCI initially doubted whether it was legal. Giant is now in its 9th generation. The largest bicycle manufacturer in the world describes the 2021 TCR as stiffer, more aerodynamic and lighter than its predecessor!
Tom Dumoulin delivered the previous generation TCR to the Giro in 2017, but the development of the new TCR already started with a prototype in 2019. Team CCC and Olympic champion Greg Van Avermaet played a crucial role in the development.
