McElrath doesn't waste any time!
The first blow is worth a dollar and Shane McElrath knows that too. The Yamaha rider has won the fifth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Eas Coast. Due to the corona virus, this championship also came to a standstill, but seven matches will be held in Salt Lake City in the coming weeks. The first 250SX race was won by the Star Racing rider, reducing his deficit to seven points. Chase Sexton finished second ahead of Garrett Marchbanks.
In the final, McElrath takes the best start ahead of no fewer than three Geico-Honda riders! Jeremy Martin follows in second ahead of Sexton and Jo Shimoda. Pierce Brown follows in fifth place, but in the second corner he collides with Shimoda, causing problems for both, including Colt Nichols. There are no problems at the front for leader McElrath, who appears to easily break away from Sexton, who has quickly worked his way past Martin. When the stragglers come into view, it seems that Sexton can regain the connection, but the leader manages to prevent that! McElrath wins ahead of Sexton and the winner of Daytona; Marchbanks! Martin comes fourth and Brown completes the top five.
