No competition until July 31, but what afterwards?
This week it was announced that no competition will be possible in our country until Friday, July 31. The government has also followed the advice of the Security Council here. Yesterday, Flemish Minister of Sports Ben Weyts presented a step-by-step plan that could be used from August 1.
In that step-by-step plan, competitions with an audience could be allowed from then on with a maximum of 2000 people. The participants and spectators are added together in that number. For motocross, this would mean that smaller competitions organized by amateur federations would be possible. From September 1, mass events would be possible again without the limit of 2000 people. Ben Weyts emphasizes that this is only advice. Everything will depend on the health situation of the population in the months of July and August. Ultimately, the Security Council decides on what will be possible on August 1 and September 1. Moreover, virologists are very cautious about the advice from September 1.
