Municipality supports MC Delfcross for Eye Track system!
The 'Eye-Track System', which is based on sensors, warns arriving riders of possible danger from a fallen or stationary rider. Anyone who arrives at such a dangerous point will see a light and hear a siren.
“Motorcross is simply one of the risk sports,” said councilor Jan Menninga (Local Interest Eemsdelta). “The association has been committed to optimal safety for its riders for years. With this financial contribution we can help the association increase safety on the track.”
Naturally, they are also very pleased with the support of the municipality at the Delfcross motorcycle club, which has about 150 members. “This support allows us to tackle the most dangerous points in advance. This subsidy does not cover all costs because as a club we are fully committed to sustainability,” Pepijn de Haan explains. “The electricity of our Eye-Track system will be generated by solar panels. That is an additional cost, but it means we can work independently.” You can see exactly how the system works in the video below:
The complete installation for the Groningen motocross track would cost around 50.000 euros. However, it can also be done for less, depending on the number of points to be protected and the electricity supply.
