TT Assen without an audience?
In any case, no motocross was planned in Assen for 2020. The 'Cathedral of Speed' will of course remain a permanent attraction for the MotoGP! There is even a chance that the world-famous Drenthe circuit will host the first full-fledged MotoGP race of the season.
The first MotoGP round of the season in Qatar at the beginning of March required a lot of improvisation due to the Corona crisis. Now the TT Circuit, IRTA (ed. organization that represents road racing teams) and Dorna are investigating whether the race can take place on the usual date without an audience.
Normally the Motul TT Assen is finished on June 28. Because TV rights are many times higher in MotoGP than in MXGP, it would make financial sense to race behind closed doors. How that could work, TT chairman Arjan Bos explained to RTV Drenthe's Karin Mulder. Watch and read continue here.
