HOT: MXGP Teutschenthal also postponed!
Lucky Luke is faster than his shadow, but in the meantime the Corona crisis is taking the new MXGP calendar up to speed. Except Belgium Germany also came up with a series of new and/or adapted measures. Chancellor Angela Merkel announced on the one hand an extension of the current lockdown until May 3. On the other hand, major events have also been postponed until August 31 in our eastern neighbors.
Shops smaller than 800 square meters, bicycle shops and bookstores may reopen in Germany from April 20. From May 4, larger stores with a surface area of up to 2500 square meters can reopen. In addition, many other guidelines have been issued in connection with schools, libraries and zoos. In addition, there is an entry restriction for those who want to enter the country from the Netherlands or Belgium 'without an urgent reason'.
Although the 16 states in Germany have many powers of their own, including with regard to specific provisions for events, there is still clarity in the field of sports competitions. Sports competitions with an audience are therefore certainly among the events that are not possible until August 31. In the original calendar MSC Teutschenthal the German MXGP round on May 24. The new date (August 9) that was announced this morning now also appears to be premature.
Below is the adjusted version of the MXGP calendar in which both St-Jean d'Angely, lommel as a Teutschenthal have to look for a new date. Due to many competitions in a very short period of time, it remains to be seen how the FIM and Infront Moto Racing will approach this.
