No GP Sidecars in Belgium this year!
Yesterday, AMC De Toekomst-Dworp made the understandable decision not to organize GP Sidecars this year. Normally it should have taken place on August 22 and 23 in Gooik. The organization has decided to focus on a new organization in 2021.
We received this press release from AMC De Toekomst: “Dear friends, Since mid-March we have been experiencing the consequences of an unprecedented global health crisis. Motorsport and motocross for us in particular has been in an uncertain period since that day. Many competitions have already been canceled or postponed to a later date. Following the preventive measures imposed on us by the National Security Council on April 15 and 24, we are forced to postpone our GP sidecars from August 22 and 23 until 2021. Nevertheless, we insist that everyone who joins our club AMC De Toekomst Dworp would like to thank you very much and we hope to see everyone healthy and well again next year in Gooik. The board."
The calendar now has five races left and it remains to be seen whether there will be a replacement for the canceled Belgian GP.
