Fontanesi stays ahead of Van de Ven in Valkenswaard!
Kiara Fontanesi won the first round of the Dutch Grand Prix in Valkenswaard. The Italian led the entire race, but it was certainly not easy. Nancy van de Ven and Larissa Papenmeier will not leave the six-time champion alone! Only after 15 minutes does 'Fonta' seem to distance themselves, but in the final phase the ladies come together again. The KTM rider narrowly wins ahead of Van de Ven and Papenmeier, who runs into trouble on the last bump after hitting Fontanesi. Courtney Duncan rides a lonely race and finishes fourth ahead of Shana van der Vlist.
After a crash in the first corner, Lynn Valk managed to come back very strong, the Nijverdalse finished seventh ahead of Britt van der Werff and Britt Jans-Beken! And with that we see no fewer than five KNMV riders in the top nine! Amandine Verstappen was in fifth place for a long time, but she crashed in the final phase, dropping back to twentieth place and thus scoring 1 point.
