Tribute to Erwin Robins, family support campaign!
Last Saturday the sad news about the death of 41-year-old Erwin Robins became known. The beloved trainer/board member MC Deurne died in a traffic accident on his way back from an internship in Spain. Next Tuesday the farewell to “The Butcher” will take place in Someren Asten Funeral Home.
As a top cross rider, Robins became 250cc ONK vice champion, after his active career he became a KNMV motorsport trainer and was also very involved in the national selection. The accident in France also involved Erwin's father, son and the chairman of MC Deurne. Supporting Erwin's family and friends in these dark times can be done in two ways:
- MX friends who want to give Erwin a nice farewell are invited to create one together guard of honor to shape. The farewell service finds upcoming tuesday 10 march place in Someren Asten Funeral Center, Acaciaweg 26, 5711 CM Someren at 11 am. To ensure that all this runs smoothly and to estimate in advance how many dirt bikes can be expected, the municipal council has asked that people who wish to participate in the guard of honor register in advance. Please send a message or App to Dean Lemmens via 06-36080903
- The cross world was spontaneous in order to relieve Erwin Robins' young family financially a fundraising campaign started. Erwin's death was hard for everyone who knew him in the Netherlands and abroad. With the crowdfunding we can show that the motorsport world is one family and that we support Erwin's wife Amada van Gennip and their four children.
