Beaton and Kjer Olsen about the Dutch GP!
Once again Jed Beaton narrowly missed out on the podium, the Husqvarna rider looks back on the Dutch GP with disappointment. His teammate Thomas Kjer Olsen should certainly not grumble given his starting position, both Negaan MX riders tell their story here from the Eurocircuit.
Jed Beaton: “It was another good Grand Prix for me but just like in Matterley I am disappointed not to be on the podium. However, this is completely my own fault because I made a mistake in the first moto. My riding is good but I have to stay on the bike to get to the podium. The sand here is so loose and heavy that a mistake is easily made, but I am happy that I have such good speed in the sand. I got a good start in the first moto and quickly managed to move from third to second place. Then I started chasing Vialle, but then I made a mistake and ended up next to the track, hit the barrier and fell. I lost a number of places, but I was happy that I could come back to sixth place. Even though I had a big crash at the start of the second moto, I was still able to get a good start. I concentrated on not making any big mistakes and even though the visibility was very poor towards the end of the race I managed to finish second. This ensured a positive end to the Grand Prix."
Thomas Kjer Olsen: “It was a difficult Grand Prix for me, but seventh place in the daily standings is not that bad. I had a bad start in both motos after crashing in the qualifying heat on Saturday and therefore having to start from the outside in both motos. I knew I had to be careful from the outside in the first corner. I got a good start but in the first corner I was pushed out and crashed. It was difficult in the first moto but I am happy that I was able to come back to eleventh place. At the start of the second moto I was more cautious, but again I was involved in a crash, which meant I had to start the race at the back again. I am satisfied with my riding because I managed to come back to sixth place. The first two Grand Prix's were not easy but my speed is good now. I now have time to train more for the next Grand Prix in Argentina. I can now tighten up some things and get some good training done before we go to Argentina."
