French federation confirms opener 24MX Tour Castelnau-de-Levis
Although a new ministerial directive has been issued in France banning gatherings of more than 1000 people, the first round of the French 24MX Tour will go ahead as usual this weekend. The further calendar for the French championship was considerably redesigned.
In order to meet the requirements of the prefecture, the Puech Rampant Moto-Club is obliged to impose restrictions for the race in Castelnau-de-Lévis. These must make it possible to organize the event in the required sanitary conditions.
The organizing club will restrict access for spectators and accompanying persons by limiting the number of passes issued. As a result, the event must not exceed the permitted limit of 1.000 people per day on the site. Due to the cancellation of almost all other major events, Castelnau-de-Lévis is one of the few European competitions that is still going ahead.
That is why unqualified Promise and Junior drivers are asked to leave the circuit from Saturday evening. Finally, the Elite MX1 and MX2 categories will have to arrive late in the afternoon on Saturday to limit the number of participants in the paddock. In addition, the FFM, the French motorcycle federation, emphasizes the essential importance of all recommendations that limit the risks of spreading the Coronavirus as much as possible.
The 24MX Tour races of Dardon Gueugnon (71) and Romagné (35) have been cancelled. The races in Dardon-Gueugnon, initially scheduled for March 28 and 29, and the race in Romagné, scheduled for April 11 and 12, will unfortunately not be able to take place given the new restrictions that have been imposed. Both clubs therefore had no choice but to cancel their events.
The new 24MXTOUR calendar – for the French Elite MX1, MX2, Junior and Espoir championships now looks as follows:
– Castelnau de Levis the 14 and 15/03
– Bitche on 02 and 03/05
– Domaine de Foolz on 30 and 31/05
– Rauville la Place on 20 and 21/06
