VIDEO: Matterley Basin track condition
The first MXGP of the year is just around the corner. This weekend the motocross riders travel to the English Matterley Basin for their first confrontation at the highest level. Besides the coronavirus, which is now also striking in Europe, there is another tricky point and that is the weather. Near Winchester, the organizers are looking anxiously at the sky because a lot of water has already fallen in the United Kingdom in the past two weeks.
Showers are expected every day from Thursday so Steve Dixon headed to the track to take stock of the current status. Dixon did a short “track walk” with his smartphone at the ready. The images show a surface that looks moist but not saturated, which gives citizens courage. Hopefully the forecast showers won't be too long and heavy so Matterley Basin can get ready for the first motocross party of the year this weekend.
