Liam Everts leaves no stone unturned against opposition in Matterley!
This afternoon the first series of the EMX125 Grand Prix of Great Britain took place in the muddy Matterley Basin. In it we saw Liam Everts shine like a diamond in the mud. The young KTM pilot got off to a good start and was able to secure the lead in the race after a few corners.
A place that he only strengthened as the race progressed, even a small fall at the end of the race could not stop him from winning the race with a great display of power, with a lead of about twenty-five seconds! Behind the Belgian young man, Swiss Yamaha pilot Kevin Brumann crossed the finish line in second place, ahead of Dane Rasmus Pedersen who finished third.
As other “lowlanders” we saw Scott Smulders finish thirteenth on his Husqvarna. Ivano Van Erp, who was still active on the 85cc machine last season, finished twenty-ninth and Kjell Verbruggen thirty-fifth. In addition to them, there were also some who did not qualify due to the high level of the EMX125 class, such as Yoran Moens, Lennert Verhoeven, Lucas Roulet, Jens Walvoort, Lucas Coenen and Junior Bal did not get beyond the time training.
Max Vohland, Tallon's son, did very well for a long time with a place in the top five. This was until a few mistakes and falls knocked him back to seventeenth place.
