Jeffrey Herlings reigns supreme in Lacapelle-Marival!
The international motocross of Lacapelle-Marival was dominated by Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM). 'the Bullet' was the strongest in both the MX1 heats and the Superfinal. Especially in the second round and in the Superfinal, Jeffrey received strong resistance from Romain Febvre. Febvre's teammate Clément Desalle finished 1th in the Superfinal and in the MX4 standings.
After taking the holeshot, Herlings controlled the first heat. Gradually the factory KTM rider pulled away from Gautier Paulin. Romain Febvre seemed to be driving towards Paulin but made a mistake. Desalle came in 3rd, Kevin Strijbos came in 12th.
The second heat was a lot more exciting at the front. Kawasaki rider Romain Febvre (photo below) now rode towards Herlings and tried to put pressure on him. In the end, Jeffrey kept his cool and finished ahead of Febvre, Seewer, Jonass and Desalle.
In the Superfinal, Herlings started in the lead again. Tom Vialle played with the big boys on his 250! However, the French MX2 star had to make way for Febvre. He went looking for Herlings again, came close, but ultimately had to give up. Ex-MXGP world champion Febvre finished second ahead of Paulin, Desalle, Seewer and Jonass. Tom Vialle, eighth overall, was the first MX2 to cross the line ahead of Jago Geerts and Jed Beaton.
