For all those who love motorcycles, scooters and mopeds…
In Belgium, the motorcycle season starts every year in the first half of January. Not necessarily because of the weather, but because during that period the most important appointment for every motorcycle enthusiast takes place: the Brussels Motor Show. This is no different in January 2020…
The enthusiasm for the motorized two-wheeler translates into a vehicle fleet that has never been larger than today: our country has almost half a million registered motorcycles and scooters. The number of driving licenses issued is also a good indication of the success of the motorcycle. That annual number of more than 24.000 is no less than 70% higher than the figures of 10 years ago. In concrete terms: 465 new motorcyclists receive their driver's license every week!
The explanation for the success of the motorcycle and the scooter is clear: on the one hand, they remain leisure products par excellence, but on the other hand, they play an increasingly important role as a mobility solution for commuters who want to be able to count on predictable travel times. The manufacturers are responding to these needs: never before has the range been so wide. The manufacturers' catalogs show many different types of motorcycles and scooters, for every budget. With a clear increase in the number of low-budget motorcycles in recent years. We are also very pleased to have brands such as Lifan and Kumpan at our Salon for the first time
to welcome.
The new exhibitors just mentioned focus on electric driving. That is a real and feasible alternative today. Of course they are not alone in this, other manufacturers are also going electric. You will also find those products at the Salon. What's more: electric two-wheelers will have their own test track. This way, young and old can become acquainted with electric mopeds and motorcycles. We naturally opt for adapted equipment and professional guidance for the younger 'test pilots'.
The show organization reflects the enthusiasm for the motorcycle industry in the layout of the exhibition halls. For the coming edition, the motorcycles will be housed in Hall 8 and Hall 9; This proved to be a great success for both exhibitors and visitors in previous editions. The central position given to the two-wheelers is a recognition for the industry and also the guarantee that every salon visitor can discover this fascinating universe.
FEBIAC and its members want to facilitate the path to motorcycling through the Start 2 Ride initiative. After all, taking the step to become a motorcyclist starts with collecting correct and complete information. About a suitable vehicle, adapted equipment, driver training and insurance, financial and tax advice... a novice motorcyclist does not make decisions overnight. FEBIAC summarizes everything you need to know in a very clear manner www.start2ride.be and on the stand of the same name at the 98th Brussels Car, Motorcycle and Mobility Show.
