Jorge Prado injury update
Jorge Prado of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team has been given permission by his doctor to increase the intensity of the training program. The MX2 world champion broke his left femur in mid-December after a fall during training in Italy. He has not yet set a date for a return to competition, but he can now strengthen physically by riding his bike and completing an upper body strength training program.
"It's only been five weeks – so it's still very early – but now I can cycle to the gym to work on my upper body. Unfortunately I can't run yet. People are really impressed with the progress I'm making. It was a fairly serious injury and a complicated operation, but the operation could not have gone better. I have to work as hard as possible to increase the muscle strength in my leg again, that will be the most important thing before I can think about the bike. I want everything to happen as quickly as possible, even though I really miss riding motorcycles“, says Prado.
The 2020 FIM MXGP World Championship starts on March 1 and it looks like Jorge Prado will not be there in Matterley Basin. More realistic schedules speak of a return in the month of May.
