The Americans win the ADAC SX Cup!
In Dortmund, Ryan Breece (SX1) and Lance Kobusch (SX2) secured the ADAC SX Cup 2019-2020. On Saturday evening, Tyler Bowers (SX1) and Joey Crown (SX2) managed to take the victories. In the 'Wesfalenhallen' Jeroen Bussink managed to qualify for the evening program and came fourth during the last chance. Jeffrey Meurs competed with former champion Nick Schmidt on Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately neither of them managed to qualify.
SX1:
Before the starting heel fell, Breece had the best credentials to win the title. The Yamaha rider was 13 points ahead of Charles Lefrancois. The same Frenchman takes the lead in the final ahead of Breece, Thomas Ramette, Mike Alessi and Jordi Tixier. On the first lap Breece takes the lead and Alessi also follows immediately, passing Lefrancios. The Sturm Racing rider then crashes and Breece takes distance. Bowers has now passed Tixier and his compatriot Ramette, after which he starts the hunt for leader Breece. The difference is then 2,3 seconds in favor of the Meyer Racing driver. Lefrancois battles for third place with Ramette and Tixier and both pass the fast starter. Then there is excitement in the room because leader Breece crashes and drops back to fifth place behind Lefrancios! Bowers doesn't look back and he wins ahead of Ramette and Tixier. Cedric Soubeyras did not have a good start but he came back strongly and finished fourth ahead of Lefrancios. Breece lets things go and ninth place is more than enough to secure the title!
SX2:
Before the final, Dale Dematile was already eliminated from the title fight. The American came to Dortmund as leader but lost the 'Redplate' to fellow countryman Kobusch on Friday evening. Dematile did not get through the last chance and saw the title slip from his hands. Kobusch himself had a hard crash on Saturday afternoon, but fortunately he was able to take action and qualified for the final. The Pfeil Kawasaki rider is eight points ahead of fellow countryman Kevin Moranz. In the final, Anthony Bourdon gets the best start ahead of Calvin Fonveille and Crown. Moranz starts fifth ahead of Kobusch, but he has a hard time after six laps when Lucas Imbert and Hakon pass Frederiksen. Both also pass Moranz, but when they crash, Moranz returns to fifth place. Crown increases the pressure on leader Bourdon after ten laps and with success! The Frenchman makes a mistake and Crown takes control to win the match. Bourdon comes second ahead of Fonveille, Julien Roussaly and Moranz. Because Kobusch crosses the finish line in seventh place, the Pfeil Kawasaki Team is celebrating.
