Straver transferred to the Netherlands, critical condition!
Edwin Straver will be transferred to the Netherlands today, Wednesday January 22. The 48-year-old driver had an unfortunate crash last Thursday during the eleventh stage of the Dakar Rally. The Brabander was resuscitated and then urgently transferred to Riyadh hospital. It is now clear that Straver has broken a cervical vertebra. “Because there has been no change in his condition since then, it was decided to repatriate him to the Netherlands. Straver will be admitted to a hospital here and the next steps will be determined in consultation with his partner and family.” according to the press release issued.
