MXMag rider of the year: Glenn Coldenhoff!
Despite the strong international competition, Glenn Coldenhoff clearly struck a chord with our readers in 2019. Our Rider/team of the year election took place simultaneously in Dutch and French but 'The Hoff' left everything and everyone behind!
Neither Tim Gajser nor Jorge Prado could keep Coldenhoff from first place. The Standing Construct KTM rider turned an extremely difficult preparation into a triumph that he completed with a third place in the World Championship, two GP victories and a resounding individual MX of Nations victory.
Glenn had to hold off Jago Geerts in this poll. With his second place, bronze Jago once again underlined that he carries the hopes of Belgian cross fans in anxious days.

Promise of the year
In 2019, EMX125 rookie Liam Everts continued his steady progression. Liamski continued to fight and was finally rewarded with the MXMag 'Promise of the Year' award. With this, Everts left both Lotte Van Drunen and Kay De Wolf behind.
2. Lotte Van Drunen et Kay De Wolf (96 pts equal)
Enduro rider of the year
Local heroes did well in our 'Rider of the Year'. Antoine Magain more than met expectations with a great EnduroGP junior campaign, a strong performance in the ISDE, a win in the BK Enduro and (finally) the 12 hours of La Chinelle. Mathias Van Hoof, Inters vice champion, also made himself noticed internationally with podium finishes in the Open class of the EnduroGP. Mathi even beat veteran Graham Jarvis in our poll! Jarvis won his fifth Erzberg Rodeo last year.
Team of the year
Every race has to be held and TeamNL lived up to its role of favorite during the MX of Nations in front of its own audience in Assen. Under the approving eye of King Willem-Alexander. Unfortunately, that historic first victory was not enough for the orange team. Team Belgium's surprising silver medal earned them the 'Team of the Year' award. Without taking into account the results of the French-speaking readers, the final settlement would have looked very different...
