Is Mike Kras announcing his retirement here?
He hasn't used the exact words yet, but it looks like Mike Kras is announcing his retirement on Facebook. The 32-year-old motocross rider won the European 2-Stroke Championship for the second time last year. This seems to put an end to a wonderful career with both highs and lows, but you only see the most important thing when you are sitting on the couch at home!
Thanks friends,
Surprised again. I was actually surprised last year. The 'Friends of Mike' concept showed that there is still a fairly large group of people who would like to see me ride. They weren't even interested in a podium finish. Just being there and participating was more than enough for them. The appreciation was great and I am very happy with that. When everything was loaded and everything neatly tidied up, I looked at the slamming back door and thought: 'what now?' Stopping at a high point is surely the best thing and that will happen as it looks now. I see my European title in the emx2t as the crowning glory of my career. Certainly a few years ago I would not have thought I would be able to achieve this. When I sit on the couch at home, next to those two little girls and the one big one, I realize how lucky I am. Then you know what you are doing it all for and especially why you are not going to do it.
