Ken Roczen about Anaheim 1
A sixth place was what Roczen managed to achieve in Anaheim and to just about everyone it seemed like an underperformance by the HRC rider. He himself explained the adjustment of the engine on Instagram. The suspension was deliberately made very stiff in the weeks before A1 and the team did not want to deviate too much from this setting.
Ken Roczen on Instagram: “Due to previous experience, I have set the motor very stiff for safety reasons. I realized before I went to Anaheim 1 that it was going to be on the stiff side. At the same time, I didn't want to turn everything upside down and keep fiddling with everything right before the season starts. Ultimately, I wanted to get to the races and go from there. The tracks become very rough and an engine that is too stiff does not help in such situations. I felt like I was riding a BMX bike. We're not pointing fingers at anyone. We all know that I can and should be at the front. The first race has been completed, I have the speed and I have undoubtedly done my job in the off-season. This week I will take a step back and leave for St Louis happy and motivated!"
