Golden handlebar for Jago Geerts, Erik Willems Promising youngster of the year
The awards ceremony of the BMB sports committee took place last Saturday in the completely full Oosterhof cultural center in Lummen. In addition to the prizes for the Belgian champions in the various disciplines, a few special trophies were also awarded.
For example, Jago Geerts received the BMB Golden Handlebar for his bronze medal in the MX2 Motocross World Championship and his performance during the Motocross of the Nations in Assen. Erik Willems received the Promising Youngster of the Year trophy for his striking switch from motocross to enduro, both in the Belgian Enduro Championship and the International Six Days.
The BMB Environmental Prize went to the Chimay Circuit. They made enormous efforts during their 3 BMB organizations regarding the separate and smooth waste collection both in the paddock and around the circuit. Two volunteers were also rewarded for their years of dedication. Philippe Borguet guided the Belgian Six Days Enduro team in a very professional manner for 2 years. Andre Vandermaesen was BMB sports chairman for many years, a position he performed with heart and soul. They received a personalized watch.
