Kevin Pauwels: I find motocross much more fun
The cyclo-cross rider hung up his bike a while ago and so our colleagues from Sporza went to Pauwels' home base to see what he is doing these days. And it turns out: he hardly rides his bike anymore and exchanged it for a powerful dirt bike. In his spare time, Pauwels goes to the dirt track on a Honda CRF250.
For years, Kevin Pauwels (35) was one of the top cyclists in cyclo-cross, but last February he almost silently said goodbye. “I have always worked hard and was used to winning a cross every now and then,” he explains in Sportweekend, “but in recent years that has not been possible anymore. That was annoying. I may miss that good performance a little, but otherwise not that much.”
