Electric fun on two wheels: The Segway Dirt Bike
More and more electric bicycles and motorcycles are coming onto the market, which was clearly visible at the EICMA in Milan. We deliberately wrote the above sentence this way because the line between bicycles and motorcycles is very thin when driven with an electric motor. Segway responds to this with an e-bike that emphasizes the mix between a dirt bike and a mountain bike.
You undoubtedly know Segway from their other creations such as an electrically powered scooter. The electric motor is as compact as that of a mountain bike, but still has some design elements from the motocross world. The e-bike is stylish, lightweight, powerful and can take a beating. The electric dirt bike comes in two variants: the X160 and the X260. Both engines are powered by powerful electric motors, so the two-wheelers are seen here as a motor. The X160 has a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour and a range of 120 kilometers. The X260 has a top speed of 75 kilometers per hour and a range of 120 kilometers.
The Segway Dirt Bike is perfect for a fun off-road ride in the forest or open field. Both versions are very manoeuvrable due to their light weight. The X160 weighs only 48 kilos while the X260 weighs 55 kilos. In addition, the e-dirt bike is made of lightweight aluminum parts and high-quality motocross parts. This means the bike can take a beating and the bikes ride very playfully. According to the manufacturer, the Segway Dirt Bike motors will be released in the United States in the first quarter of 2020. In America you pay around 2700 dollars for the X160 and around 4000 dollars for the X260. That's a great price for a unique and powerful electric dirt bike. It is not known whether these nice toys will come to Belgium, but if the good Santa still had doubts, we have been very good this year!
