Official: Brent Van Doninck in British service!
Husqvarna UK recently announced that they have secured a top transfer with Brent Van Doninck. Van Doninck will compete for ASA United Husqvarna in his rookie 450 season a Husqvarna FC450.
Van Doninck has had several successful seasons in MX2. He scored several podiums and in 2017 he finished his best GP season as 10th in the final standings. Because Brent is 23, he had to be promoted to the MXGP in the World Championship.
Ultimately, the former Belgian MX2 champion found shelter at ASA United Husqvarna. In 2020, in addition to the ACU British Championship, the MX Nationals and several MXGP wildcards are on his program.
Lee Tolan, team owner: “We were looking for a podium contender for the MX1 to get the best out of the high-performance Husqvarna FC450. We have found our man in Brent. His world-class resume is incredible and I was so happy we were able to sign him. This is a great result for our team and our sponsors.”
Brent Van Doninck: “I had to switch to the 450 this year because of the age limit. However, I feel more than ready for that. I'm a pretty big rider for a 250 and I've already trained with a 450. Actually, I immediately got the feeling that the bigger one suits me more! It will be an exciting challenge to be at the front in England with ASA United Husqvarna, because in both championships I will be riding in there there is a lot of talent. I'm also looking forward to showing myself in the MXGP because I think I have good speed. Thank you to Lee Tolan for this great opportunity.”
