KNMV commits itself to Against Cancer!
KNMV and Against Cancer have entered into a five-year commitment to enable families, whose child has been affected by cancer, to enjoy beautiful motorsport moments as much as possible. The Against Cancer Foundation, formerly Racing Against Cancer, originated from motorsport and organizes several events for families whose child has been affected by this major disease. As a motor sports organization, the KNMV fully supports the mission of Against Cancer; Giving a smile to a child in his/her race against cancer.
KNMV director Patrice Assendelft: “Over the past two years I have seen up close how the children and families enjoy a day out in the VIP Box at the Assen TT circuit. If we as KNMV can do this more often, then that is something we would like to contribute to!”
In the coming years, we will make more events available to families and we will work more intensively with Against Cancer to see what we can do for each other, but especially for the families.
To give the collaboration extra shine, the Motorsport Gala 2019 (in January 2020) will partly focus on this collaboration, including an auction with unique items on which you can bid. All proceeds will benefit the Against Cancer foundation.
Patrick Boxem (chairman of the Against Cancer Foundation) is happy with this commitment: “Motorsport has always been an important factor in our activities. We are therefore very happy with the collaboration with the KNMV. It is great that together we can help children and their brothers, sisters and (grand)parents forget their worries for a day.”
