Gebben Racing-Van Venrooij-Yamaha with three riders!
The Gebben Racing-Van Venrooij-Yamaha Team will compete in the FIM MXGP World Championship with three riders in 2020. The Italian Alessandro Lupino still has a contract for the coming season and that will be his third year with the Drenthe team. Lupino, the 85 2006cc world champion, already rode Yamaha from 2007 to 2010. The new drivers for the coming season are Calvin Vlaanderen and Thomas Covington. After two seasons at HRC, the South African-born rider was allowed to leave there. He is 23 years old and must therefore make the transition to the MXGP! The American Covington returned home, but it was a particularly difficult season with physical problems. Despite a contract for 2020 with Husqvarna, the 24-year-old motocross rider can return to Europe and in the MXGP next season!
