ISDE Portugal: Sanders again, great Erik Willems
The Australian captain, Daniel Sanders, was also the man to beat today. Individually, Sanders was again the fastest ahead of Josep Garcia. The Australians therefore remain firmly in the saddle as leaders for the US and Italy. In the World Trophy, the Belgians hold eleventh place.
Under the impetus of an excellent Erik Willems, 28th individually today, the Belgian Junior team rises from 9th to 8th place! After a difficult first day, ISDE rookie Mathias Van Hoof gained a lot of steam. Van Hoof was clearly in better shape and even entered the top 60 in the third special.
Ex-MXGP rider Davide Guarneri also did well today, 'Pota' finished seventh in the scratch. His compatriot Andrea Verona was the fastest Junior and pushed Italy to third place in the Juniors.
