ISDE Portugal: Australia sets the tone
The ISDE Trophy defending champions Australia made a great start near Portimao today. Captain Daniel Sanders was by far the fastest individually. The Australians led the Americans by just over 19 seconds, where all-rounder Ryan Sipes was the star performer. Belgium (Jeremy Herinne-Gauthier Lillo-Jerome Martinye-Mathias Van Hoof) is currently 11th.
The Italians, the British and the Finns - second, third and fourth respectively - follow at more than 2 minutes. However, the British team suffered a major blow when EnduroGP world champion Brad Freeman (Beta) suffered a broken wrist in the third test!
The Australians also lead in the Junior class. The Belgian team (Antone Magain-Mika Vanderheyden-Erik Willems) is a creditable ninth. In the scratch - the general individual rankings - juniors Magain and Willems are the best Belgians. After the first day, Antoine is 27th, Willems is 33rd.
