Willemsen/Stupelis in 2020!
Daniel Willemsen will be back in full action on the sidecar cross tracks in 2020. His baking artist will be none other than the Latvian Kaspars Stupelis!
Together the duo is responsible for 14 world titles in sidecar cross. He won two of Daniel Willemsen's ten World Championships with Stupelis in 2003 and 2004. Stupelis won his other two titles with Bax and the last one very recently because Stupelis is the 2019 World Champion.
It will be very interesting to see what the experienced duo can achieve in 2020. Hopefully for them they will regain the chemistry of more than 15 years ago in which Willemsen took the previously not very well-known Stupelis under his wing, after which the duo really was unbeatable in the World Cup Sidecar Cross.
However, the gentlemen are now 15 years older and the competition is fierce with team Bax, team Vanluchene, team Hermans and emerging talents such as Jake Brown and Julian Veldman, to name just a few teams.
MXmag wishes Willemsen and Stupelis good luck in 2020!
