Van Mechgelen was vindicated and back in the lead!
Yesterday we reported that Torre van Mechgelen had lost the lead in the KNMV Open Dutch Championship 50cc. The Belgian's KTM was taken for a spot check after the race in Westerbork and the machine was rejected. All points already achieved were canceled and Kenzo Jaspers was the new leader. There has now been a follow-up investigation at the KTM Sportmotorcycle AG Headquarters, the KNMV and an independent third party. All three parties confirm that the engine has not been modified! This means that Van Mechgelen has regained the lead in the title fight and that he can decide his advantage next Saturday!
