KTM launches 2020 Prado & Cairoli Special Edition models
In honor of two outstanding athletes and their Red Bull KTM Factory Racing bikes, KTM is pleased to announce two limited edition models arriving at dealers soon: the KTM 250 SX-F Prado and the KTM 450 SX-F Cairoli.
2019 was a year of dominance for KTM's Jorge Prado, with the young Spaniard showing his talent, dedication and consistency by claiming his second consecutive FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship title. With 31 wins and 16 overalls, including 14 1-1 finishes this season, the 18-year-old rider on his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing KTM 250 SX-F, which gave him his 11th title victory from the last 12 races, is nothing less can be called exceptional. To celebrate this incredible year for Prado, KTM has created something special and is now pleased to announce the limited edition KTM 250 SX-F Prado MY2020.
This Ready To Race machine offers high-quality components such as orange anodized Factory triple clamps, a composite crankcase skid plate and a Selle Dalla Valle Factory saddle. In addition, this sublime model, which formed the basis for Prado's championship bike, has a racing-inspired orange frame, a semi-floating front wheel disc, a front brake disc protector, an orange rear sprocket, a gold-colored Regina chain and of course a design in the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing style with Prado's number '61' on the front and back. Motorcyclists who want to purchase the most vicious weapon available with exclusive specifications need not look further than the KTM 250 SX-F Prado.
“A production motorcycle with the number '61' on it is something you can only dream of as a child - it's really special and I think it looks spectacular. We have had a fantastic season and I would like to thank KTM for this celebration of our shared success. It's really cool. I am very proud to be part of the orange family and it is a great honor to see the KTM 250 SX-F Prado machine go into production,” confirms Prado.
When it comes to a championship-winning pedigree, the KTM 450 SX-F is a model built in racing to win. Much of the success of this incredible motorcycle can be attributed to legendary rider Antonio “Tony” Cairoli, who is building a true legacy thanks to his nine world championship titles and continued presence at the forefront of the MXGP field.
Cairoli helped shape the latest generation of this proven racing champion, which is simply the most competitive dirt bike on the track. In tribute to a legend, KTM would like to announce the launch of the KTM 450 SX-F Cairoli MY2020. This motorcycle is even more Ready To Race and, just like the KTM 250 SX-F Prado, has excellent features and an exclusive Red Bull KTM Factory Racing design with Cairoli's world-famous number '222'.
“My motorcycle is very special to me and over the years we have made so many big steps in the development of the KTM 450 SX-F as we chased success in the races. A lot of work has gone into the latest generation of the 450 and I still love racing as much as I ever did. To receive this tribute from KTM, some modesty is appropriate. To see riders on the road with the number 222 on a bike that looks so much like my Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine, that's really cool. It is an exceptional motorcycle developed by the best technicians in the world, and it is a truly special model. I look forward to seeing them on the road,” Cairoli said.
“At KTM we are proud to have two of the world's best motocross athletes influence the development of our machines and we are happy to take full advantage of that. In honor of Prado's incredible season and as a tribute to Cairoli's continued success in MXGP, we decided to build two special models that feature some top components and a true Factory look. They will be available at European dealers on a strictly limited basis in the last quarter of 2019,” said KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad Joachim Sauer.
The KTM 450 SX-F Cairoli will arrive at KTM dealers across Europe at the end of October, while the KTM 250 SX-F Prado will become available at authorized European KTM dealers in December.
