Protempo Cup and National Championship title for Mulders/Van de Wiel
Frank Mulders/Aivar van de Wiel achieved overall victory in Meijel in both the Protempo Cup and the MON 24 MX NK sidecar inters. The duo came to the Vossenberg circuit with a small lead in both classifications and with two second places in the heats they kept their direct competitors Maurice Greup/Ronnie Meulenbroek and Stephan Weijers/Siebe van der Putten behind them. The match was won by Julian Veldman/Ondej Cermak who took the opportunity to get used to each other a bit more. In the national class the title went to Marcel van Wanrooij/Brian van Wanrooij. With a second and third place in the daily ranking of the nationals, they maintained a margin of 26 points over Nick de Schepper/Daniel van de Kerkhof to be crowned champions.
First heat
In a chaotic first lap, the holeshot was for Larris Hendrickx/Moreno Hoesen ahead of Mulders/van de Wiel, van Dijk/van der Putten and Weijers/van der Putten. A traffic jam soon occurred at the back and a little further on Mulders/van de Wiel got stuck. Weijers/van der Putten fell victim to this and rode behind Mulders van de Wiel and also fell far back. At the first passage it was Hendrickx/Hoesen in the lead ahead of van Dijk/van der Putten, van Berlo/Looijen, Greup/Meulenbroek and van Ravenstein/van Zwam. Greup/Meulenbroek moved to third place in the second round at the expense of Van Berlo/Looijen and it was Veldman/Cermak who now finished fifth. Van Berlo/Looijen also soon saw Veldman/Cermak pass them by and they were soon followed in their advance by Mulders/van de Wiel. Veldman/Cermak also quickly passed Van Dijk/Van der Putten to take the lead one lap later from Hendrickx/Hoesen, who also started a decline that brought them to sixth place in the heat. Mulders/Van de Wiel soon followed and took over second place. However, Veldman/Cermak had already closed the gap and rode to the heat victory ahead of Mulders/Van de Wiel. Van Dijk/van der Putten crossed the finish line in third place. Weijers van der Putten managed to get back to fourth place and Greup/Meulenbroek finished the round in fifth place.
Second heat
In the crowd in the first corner, Van Dijk/Van der Putten and Rene Stalman/Joep van Leuken were among those who fell behind. It was van Berlo/Looijen who were now the fastest ahead of Veldman/Cermak, Mulder/van de Wiel, Weijers/Van der Putten and Hendrickx/Hoesen. van Berlo/Luizen quickly had to give up some positions and quickly ended up in fifth place. Nothing changed in the other positions at the front. Veldman/Cermak took a lead over Mulders/van de Wiel and they again had a lead over Weijers/van de Wiel. Far behind it was Hendrickx/Hoesen who seemed to hold off Berlo/Looijen. However, two laps before the end things went wrong for Hendrickx/Hoesen. After what seemed like a serious crash, they were lucky and walked off the track independently. Veldman/Cermak again won the heat ahead of Mulders/van de Wiel. Weijers/Van der Putt now crossed the finish line in third place ahead of Van Berlo/Looijen. Van Dijk/van der Putten finished their catch-up in fifth place in the heat
