Van de Moosdijk steps onto the Grand Prix podium!
In preparation for his first full Grand Prix season in 2020, Roan van de Moosdijk will start this year in the last two races of the FIM MX2 World Championship. Earlier this year, the 18-year-old rider already impressed during the Grand Prix of Portugal, where he finished sixth. In Afyonkarahisar, the Kawasaki rider finished fifth and third in the heats, putting him third in the day's standings! A special achievement that created satisfied faces within the F&H Racing Team. The race also went well for Adam Sterry, who turned 23 earlier this month and finished seventh in both heats. Due to the knee injury sustained in Sweden, Henry Jacobi will no longer play this season, but the German is already assured of fifth place in the final standings. This weekend the victory also went to Jorge Prado who won both heats.
1st Round
On Saturday, Roan made an immediate impression by qualifying second behind Prado for both heats on Sunday afternoon. The Kawasaki riders get off to a good start in the first moto and start the race over 30 minutes and two laps just outside the top five. In the first full lap, Roan makes a small mistake that drops him back to eighth place. The lost position is quickly regained, after which a duel ensues with teammate Adam for sixth place. The team watches with excitement and after 15 minutes of competition, Roan manages to take over sixth place. Not much later, the Brabander makes a mistake, causing Adam and Flanders to pass by. The fight with Adam starts again from the beginning and with a few minutes left on the race director's clock, Roan is able to pass the Brit. Thanks to a strong final phase, Roan managed to make up two more places and crossed the finish line in fifth place. Adam tries to put pressure on Boisrame, but the Frenchman finishes sixth ahead of the Leatt-clad rider.
2st Round
When the starting gate comes down, KX250F riders get off to a good start. Roan comes out of the first corner in fifth place and his teammate follows in ninth place. In the second full lap, Roan manages to take over fourth place from Renaux and a lap later Geerts can also be passed. The EMX250 champion will no longer hand over that third place! In the final phase it is still exciting because Renaux can climb onto the GP podium when he finishes third. Roan manages to prevent this and not only finishes third in this heat but also in the Turkish GP! Adam fights with Pichon and Evans in the first half of the match, but when he puts them behind him he distances himself. The friendly Brit also crosses the finish line in seventh place in this round and that position is also in the daily rankings for the rider from Wales.

The final race of the FIM MX2 World Championship will be held next week in China. Adam is now sixth in the standings, only eight points ahead of Renaux!
