The Netherlands tops in MXGP qualifying series in Turkey!
There was just a fight for the best starting place behind the fence for the Turkish Grand Prix. We soon saw Tim Gajser take the lead in the race, but the already crowned world champion for 2019 crashed in one of the corners and Glenn Coldenhoff was able to take full advantage of this!
The Standing Construct KTM pilot was given the lead and then remained icy calm when his compatriot Jeffrey Herlings, who came second after a poor start in the final laps, also came to apply pressure. The two even came into contact briefly, without any intention and without any problem. Glenn Coldenhoff did not let this discourage him and crossed the finish line first ahead of Jeffrey Herlings. These two gentlemen seem ready for the “Motocross des Nations” on Assen's own soil!
Behind the Dutch dominance, Monster Energy Yamaha pilot Jeremy Seewer finished third ahead of second Standing Construct KTM pilot Ivo Monticelli. Gautier Paulin completed the top five. Tim Gajser, who tried to massage his neck and shoulder after the finish, only finished twelfth, but it remains to be seen whether the Slovenian, who has nothing left to win, will be at the start tomorrow.
With the Privé Honda of Jeremy Van Horebeek's Motoblouz team in sixth place and the Privé JWR Yamaha of Kevin Strijbos in sixth and eighth places, in addition to two Dutch people, we also had two Belgians in the top ten. Micha-Boy de Waal showed on his Hutten Yamaha that with good support he has a top fifteen finish with a fourteenth position, and not for the first time this season!! Nathan Renkens finished nineteenth and Brian Bogers, who is really looking for himself, finished twenty-second.
