Kjell Verbruggen the strongest in Veendam
After a long summer break, the KNMV Open Dutch Championship continued in Veendam. The 'youth' came into action on the Groningen circuit, but the 85cc Grote Wielen was not there. The 125cc class did and Kjell Verbruggen became the big winner.
The Husqvarna rider won both heats ahead of JUMBO-No Fear Energy-BT Motorsport colleague Scott Smulders. The podium was completed by Kjeld Stuurman. Torre Van Mechgelen won both heats in the 50cc class while Douwe van Mechgelen (2-1) was victorious in the 85cc Kleine Wielen. In the 65cc KW, victory also went to Belgium thanks to Maxime Lucas. In the 65cc GW, Gyan Doensen won twice ahead of Lotte van Drunen.
