Jeremy Knuiman Dutch Champion MON MX2 youth
Jeremy Knuiman of the MX Rookie Team won the Dutch Championship in the MON MX2 youth class on Saturday. He won both heats at the D'n Hoek circuit in Groesbeek. After the announcement that the MON national motocross in Heeswijk will not take place due to failure to obtain a permit, there is only one race left for this class and Knuiman has a lead of 155 points over Sem Beijer. With second place in the daily rankings, Beijer is assured of second place in the championship with a lead of 157 points over Bailey van Aken. Van Aken crashed in the first moto, but with fifth place in the day's standings he collected enough points to ensure third place in the championship. Third place in the daily rankings went to Nick van Loon. Sjef Platte ended the day in fourth place.
First heat
It was Van Loon who had the best start of the six drivers present. He was followed by Knuiman, Beijer, van Aken and Platte. However, it was Knuiman who managed to take over the lead in the first lap and continued to race each lap to take the heat victory. Van Loon had a lead over Beijer and van Aken from the beginning and managed to keep it intact while driving strongly to cross the finish line in second place. The battle in the heat was mainly in third and fourth place. Van Aken managed to catch up with Beijer and took over third place on the sixth lap. Beijer stayed on the rear wheel and in the last lap Van Aken crashed hard just before the last corner. Beijer took advantage and took third place in the heat. Van Aken had enough of a lead on the flat to be classified fourth.
Second heat
Beijer was the fastest ahead of Knuiman, van Loon, Platte and Jerry Wiegmans. The battle in this heat was quickly over. Knuiman took over the lead on the second lap and quickly ran away from Beijer. He again took the heat victory with a lead of more than 30 seconds. Beijer crossed the finish line second, who in turn had a wide lead over van Loon. Platte crossed the finish line in fourth. Fifth place seemed to go to Wiegmans until halfway through the heat, but just like in the first heat, he dropped out halfway through the heat. It was because of this that Van Aken, despite a lot of pain in his wrist, saw the checkered flag in fifth place and collected enough points to be assured of third place in the championship.
