Gianlucca Facchetti is looking forward to Hutten Metaal Yamaha
Neox Management confirmed today that Gianluca Facchetti (19) will switch to the Hutten Metaal Yamaha team for 2020. Last week it was formally announced that Wim Hutten's team will become Yamaha's official representative in the EMX250.
Facchetti is still under contract with Yamaha Motor Europe for two years and rode for SDM Corse DP19 Yamaha this year. The 125 2017cc junior world champion will receive the full support of Yamaha Motor Europe to relaunch his career after a particularly difficult season.
Facchetti made his return after a hand injury during the final EMX250 round in Sweden. Unfortunately, Tony Cairoli's protégée had to deal with bad luck again. In the first moto he was fighting for a top-10 place when another rider landed on him and broke his collarbone.
Gianluca Facchetti: “I am very happy to announce my 2020 team. I can't wait to work with them to better prepare for a new adventure after this disappointing 2019 season. Sometimes you have to face reality and start over. My EMX250 campaign ended with a shoulder injury which was typical of a very difficult 2019 season. I would like to thank Yamaha Motor Europe, my manager and my parents for all the support I received, even in the most difficult moments.”
